Sacnite is an eight-year-old girl from Mayan descent that lives in the isolated village in the Cuchumantanes Mountains in Guatemala that is over-run by the pathogen. Following her rescue as the sole survivor, she is provided a home in a replica village, where her immunity to the pathogen is also being researched to determine if it was the result of natural evolution or human intervention.
