The Outside Zone is the collective noun for all geographical areas that are not part of the Governance. It is not a term of derision, these are societies, cultures and countries that for the citizens of the Governance, have little to no bearing on their lives.

The countries in the Outside Zone do not recognise this term or use it to describe themselves, they for the most part remain as single territories of land defined by a border.

The dominant economies in the Outside Zone are Russia, China, Japan and the Federation of North African States.
